HYDROTHERAPY

High Lane Hydrotherapy provides rehabilitation, fitness and recreational swimming sessions via a hydrotherapy pool. Predominantly catering to Dogs, however I can facilitate for other small animals such as Cats & Rabbits in the North West of England. Statistically it is said that osteoarthritis is the most common cause of chronic pain in dogs, affecting 4 out of 5 dogs and 80% of dogs over the age of 8 have this painful, progressive disease. It also affects 35% of dogs over the age of 1 and is shockingly the most common cause of elective euthanasia in dogs. Hydrotherapy is scientifically backed and uses the natural healing properties of heated, treated water in order to allow an injured animal to move their joints within a weightless environment. The buoyancy of the water fully supports the animal during exercise. Controlled exercise tailored to your dogs needs helps improve circulation, reduces pain perception, builds cardiovascular fitness and alleviates discomfort not only in arthritic dogs but also can aid recovery, reducing the amount of time an animal is crate rested or restricted in exercise post op. The resistance of the water as the animal swims allows them to build overall strength, muscle bulk and tone without the strain land based exercise presents. These are just a few of the benefits hydrotherapy can offer.

With a high percentage of insurance companies now offering to reimburse you for this treatment, hydrotherapy is now more accessible to pet owners than ever.
